The Curse Of Tracy McGrady
Yes, this cat is injured again. Between T-Mac and Yao the Rockets are the best/worst team in the league. Imagine what they could accomplish if these two guys could stay healthy. McGrady has had tailing numbers the last four years due to injury. This season he is averaging 15 points per….. What? T-Mac averaging 15 points a game?
It’s easy to see the guy is injured. He has been giving what he can, playing through the pain, but at some juncture you have to realize you aren’t the player you need to be. His last year with Orlando T-Mac averaged over 32 a game. He has never played a full season, and chances are, he never will.
It’s always hard to watch a great talent fall, but this guy needs to find a way to get healthy. T-Mac and Gilbert Arenas might be the two most disappointing injuries in years. Forget about Greg Oden…. Agent Zero is still out, and I haven’t seen or heard anything that proves he’ll be back this year.
All you cats with your T-Mac sneaks better trade ‘em in for the Stephon Marbury kicks…..
No commentsDear Amare Stoudemire,
I regret to inform you that I take no heed of your extraordinary talent for the game of basketball. I’ve ceased to care that you are the most versatile big man in the NBA. I have no regard for your work ethic, or the fact that you’ve returned from microfracture surgery to become a more dominant player. I’ve forgotten all the excitement you’ve given to the City Of Phoenix. Who cares? Not me. . . .
I feel like my team should be doing much better than it is, and you sir, are the problem. We are ninth in the standings of the Western Conference. I don’t care that we are only half way through the season and still in the playoff race. I don’t see how you can help this team any further. I want to give up on the season and the team we’ve been building for the past three years. I don’t trust Steve Kerr as far as I can throw him. So you are the whipping boy. I plan to trade you and receive less than half your worth because I am a complete idiot of an owner and have no regard for the basketball player you have become or the game of basketball itself.
We might still be in the playoff race, but after I trade you things will change. You’ll see. Golden State will overtake us and the City Of Phoenix will riot.
Sincerely, Robert Sarver, your Boss.
No comments63 in a College Game?
Utah Valley State and Chicago State. Four overtimes. 63 points for one player. His name is Ryan Toolson. Toolson went 7-11 from behind the three-point line. He dropped 20-21 free throws during his hot shooting night. Four overtimes later Utah Valley State had a 123-121 victory. Damn, that’s Pistol Pete type scoring.
I want to address the Phoenix Suns and their supposed dissolution in the coming weeks. The trade deadline is February 19th, and the Suns seem to be spinning their wheels. Look, I have the feeling that this team could make a run. There is no way a team with this many skilled basketball players just fades away. Steve Nash and Shaq and Grant Hill WON”T let it happen. I’m sorry. It ain’t gonna happen. Right now the Suns are eighth in the playoff race. Sure, it’s going to be tough, but we all know how the Rockets roll. Somebody is bound to get hurt (McGrady) and they’re going to fall off the face of the earth. I’m not a Suns fan at all, but I hate to see a GM get impatient. I say give the Suns a bit more time. If you trade away good players now you waste the last half of the season, and you give talent to the rest of the NBA. Rebuild next year if you have to, but give it this year. I don’t think this squad will continue to disappoint.
1 commentChris Paul Is GOD
27, 15, 10, 7…. What do all these numbers have in common? No, they aren’t all prime. That is the stat line for Chris Paul last night. Points, Assists, Rebounds, and Steals. We’re talking close to a quadruple double….. What? I wrote a couple weeks ago that the guy is off the chain, the hook, the beaten path. Those are Hakeem type numbers people. Talk about the most complete player in the league, when was the last time a point guard held that distinction? The old Magic days….
Anybody who wants to get to the championship on the left coast is going to have to step to Chris Paul.
And you don’t step to GOD.
And Chris Paul is GOD.
1 commentKurt Warner Again?
Kurt Warner is still going strong. Nine years after fighting his way to the NFL from the Arena League, he is going to the Super Bowl again. This is a chance for him to cement his legacy as a bona fide Hall Of Fame quarterback. Warner has been an underdog for so long, that it seems he thrives in the throes of doubt.
Whatever the negative, it seems he possesses a super human confidence. His performance Sunday afternoon was legendary. His story as a whole is legendary. A former supermarket stocker, Warner forged his path through minor league football. Take all the numbers and throw them out. Just forget about statistics.
Think about a guy at 37 who is still doing what he knows how to do best; lead men on the football field. He’s taken two struggling franchises to the height of NFL success, and all by the muscle in his chest: The Heart. His legend ranks with Joe Montana and Tom Brady…. When you think about what a quarterback should be, Kurt Warner is it. He always has been IT, whether stocking shelves or taking snaps in an empty arena.
Heart, and courage. The only two things that REALLY matter.
